Showcase Your School’s Green Efforts: Official Rules

No purchase is necessary to enter this contest. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Contest is void where prohibited. The contest is only open to U.S. residents over the age of 18 at the time of entry. Entrants must be a faculty member, administrator or teacher entering on behalf of his/her public or private school. Entries are limited to one entry per school. Only entries with complete entry forms will be eligible. Entries must be submitted by end of the day April 9, 2010. Entries will then be judged by a panel, narrowing the entries down to five finalists each within two categories: entries by kindergarten through fifth grade schools and entries made by sixth grade through twelfth grade schools. The finalists will then be announced and notified on April 26, 2010 and their entries will be displayed on www.qagraphics.com for the schools and the public to cast their vote to determine the winners. The winners will be announced and notified on May 10, 2010, and will be awarded a custom designed Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard to be developed for their school.
QA Graphics will work with the school beginning in May to develop the EEED to be completed for the new school year in fall of 2010. The awarded EEEDs will include the following components and capabilities: Home page (home screen image is provided by school); weather widget; content, photos and video displayed on the EEED will be easily editable, allowing the school to edit and update content; and the EEED will be displayed online. The school will also be able to choose from a list of five additional features to be displayed on the EEED. These options are clearly explained in the prize details section. The ability to display live building data is not included in the giveaway. This feature is available for a fee. The EEED development is subject to the size of the school building(s) and assets provided. While QA Graphics develops the application, the winning schools must be involved throughout the process to provide the content and graphics they wish to be displayed. To use the completed EEED, schools must have a web server from which the application can run. QA Graphics will work with the school to set the application up and display online, but the school is responsible for providing a web server.
By entering this contest, participants agree to be bound by the official stated rules and that the judges’ decisions are final. Participants also agree that if his or her school wins the contest, QA Graphics may use the winning entry details and school’s name for promotional use without compensation, and upon request must be willing to provide consent to this use in writing. The contest is subject to local, state and federal regulations. By entering this contest, your contact information will be included in QA Graphic’s database and you may be contacted in the future about special offers relating to the EEED. By entering this contest, you will also receive a special rate to purchase an EEED if your school is not one of the selected winners.
