Showcase Your School’s Green Efforts Contest

Energy Dashboard for Green Schools

Let QA Graphics know what your school has done to be green and have a chance to win an Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard to display at your school.

QA Graphics understands the importance of sustainable building and helps a variety of organizations provide education about the importance of resource conservation and green efforts. QA Graphics would like to reward schools for their sustainable efforts and provide two schools with a tool that will help them educate the next generation about being green.  Enter the Showcase Your School’s Green Efforts contest and further your school’s sustainability. Win a tool that will engage, educate and motivate the students, parents and the community to continue your school’s green efforts.

Who can enter?
QA Graphics’ Showcase Your School’s Green Efforts contest is open to all public and private schools with students between kindergarten and twelfth grade in the U.S.  To enter the contest, schools must complete the entry form and submit a short essay describing what their school has done to be green. The school may work with students to formulate the submission, but the final entry must be submitted by a faculty member, administrator or teacher entering on behalf of his/her school. Selection Process:
QA Graphics is working with the national U.S. Green Building Council to reach out to state USGBC chapters for support and assistance in the contest and judging of the entries. Contest finalists will be selected based on the following criteria (entries are based on 100 possible points):

1. The initiatives have improved the overall environmental health of the school (i.e., the school makes a smaller environmental impact, has improved resource consumption, or is saving money in a result of sustainable efforts, etc.) (50 points)
2. The initiatives are sustainable (resulting in a long-term positive impact) (35 points)
3. Quality of the essay (15 points)
4. Entries may include up to 5 photos documenting the school’s green initiatives

A team of judges will review the entries and select five finalists from entries provided by kindergarten through 5th grade schools and five finalists from entries provided by 6th through 12th grade schools.
