Case Study: HVAC System Graphics Overhaul for Prestigious Stadium

One of our long-time clients, a trusted system integrator, approached us with a high-profile assignment: overhauling the HVAC system graphics for a prestigious NFL stadium. This stadium, a landmark facility known for hosting large-scale events and national broadcasts, had outdated control systems and visuals that no longer met modern expectations for functionality or aesthetics.

The project scope was extensive—it included multiple buildings across the stadium campus, dozens of intricate floor plans, and hundreds of mechanical system graphics that required complete modernization. In addition to the technical complexity, the end user had a firm requirement: everything needed to be completed within a strict three-month timeline to align with upcoming operational and seasonal demands.

Our Solution

To meet the challenge, we proposed leveraging our Vector Symbol Library, our latest offering designed to bring a clean, modern look to system graphics while maintaining compatibility with the Niagara 4 framework utilized at the facility. The Vector Symbol Library not only elevated the visual quality of the graphics but also offered long-term value—available for a one-time licensing fee that granted the client rights to use the assets on all future projects without recurring costs.

In addition to the Vector Library, we delivered:

  • A customized graphic template tailored specifically for the stadium’s end-user interface, ensuring ease of navigation and operational clarity.
  • High-resolution, 3D floor plans that provided a top-tier visualization of the HVAC equipment and mechanical layouts throughout the entire site. These graphics emphasized functionality while offering a polished, professional appearance in line with the stadium’s high standards.
  • Collaborative project management, where our design team worked closely with the system integrator, ensuring consistent communication, quick feedback loops, and seamless integration of all graphical components into the existing control system.

Our designers focused on clarity, consistency, and precision—balancing aesthetic improvements with the critical need for functional accuracy across all systems represented.

The Outcome for the Client

We successfully delivered the complete graphics package within the tight three-month deadline, despite the project’s size and complexity. The new HVAC graphics enhanced both the user experience and operational efficiency for the stadium’s facilities team.
